My name is Grace Ellison and I am a second year ACCE student at New River Community College. I have been working at Virginia Tech Transportation Institute as a Heavy Vehicle Simulator Technician since October of 2022. Without the ACCE program and our amazing sponsors I would not be the person I am today. Their dedication to the program and to the success of the students of NRCC allows for a prominent change in the future of Giles county.
READ MOREI am currently attending New River, pursuing a General Studies Degree. I plan on continuing to a four year university where I will be earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies. ACCE has been a great experience in many ways. I have learned much about my community’s history, people, and it’s overall general theme. I have met many people throughout my community. I have had the opportunity to serve many different parts of the community.
READ MOREMy career path is software engineering. I have been with the ACCE program for two years, and it has benefited me in many ways. Serving my community has humbled me in great ways. It has been an honor to serve and work for my community. Last summer I had the privilege to work for the Town of Pearisburg. My tasks included mulching and planting flowers, cleaning and organizing files, and watering flowers. It was an honor to work for and with the people who make Pearisburg so special.
READ MOREI am currently attending NRCC working on my degree in secondary education. I hope become a history teacher and work locally, teaching the next generation. ACCE has helped me tremendously in my pursuit of higher learning and has let me give back to the community I’ve known my whole life.
